TMAL is a high school math (9th – 12th) competition sponsored by NSBE. Throughout the summer, students are trained in various math topics, real world engineering problems and NSBE
History to prepare for the regional TMAL competition. 


Twenty-five students will be selected to participate in the training program and five will be chosen to represent Chicago as the TMAL team. Training will take place on Saturdays, twice a month from June to September.

PCI students also receive communication regarding summer engineering programs, other STEM
programs in the area, college scholarships, and experience events that help to deepen their
cultural awareness.


TMAL Info Session:
June 4th 2011
IIT Campus

Training Sessions:
9am-Noon, Saturdays from June to October
TMAL final team training sessions held in October and November

Students will receive training in the following subjects:
Fractions, Decimals, Algebra, Exponents, Geometry, Physics, Statistics, NSBE History, and Team Building and Overall Problem Solving.


Local Competition: October, 10am - 3pm, Parents Invited

Students will be selected for the TMAL team based on:
Attendance, Quiz/ Homework/ Test scores, Attitude and Overall program commitment

Regional Competition:  November 2011 - Milwaukee, WI
